The cost of an AED is around £1000. A box to house it is from £150 for an indoor box to £350 to £1000 for a box with a keypad lock and a heater. A limited number of grants are available and these are being pursued.
We are looking to a number of places for funding, but the most significant will be public donations.
- British Heart Foundation (BHF) grants
- East of England Ambulance Service NHS trust schemes
- Parish / District / County funding
- Other grants eg lottery / Hertfordshire Community foundation
- Groups who benefit – Golf, tennis, cricket, football, fitness on the common, hockey (CDS)
- Parish hall users that will benefit - Exercise groups, drama, ballet,
- Parent associations of schools where they can be placed
- Community fund raising events
- Donations at training events
- Local business sponsorship – Purchase / Adopt an AED / Sponsorship programmes
- Individuals sponsoring or adopting - programmes to be devised and promoted
- Chorleywood / Heronsgate / Loudwater Residents associations
- Becoming a ‘Friend of CPADS’ a modest annual membership
- Local charitable groups eg Lions / Rotary / WI / Chorleywood Care /
We think that fund raising groups may form in areas such as Heronsgate and Loudwater where there is an active community within the wider community. These areas have a relatively small population without shopping or school visitors but are remote from the high risk areas where AEDs will initially be placed. The same may happen at schools, churches, sports clubs. We will liaise, encourage and assist in such pursuits.
We would welcome any ideas you have for fundraising
